EUNICE-Memorial services for Sis. Christine W. Givs, 55, will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at 9:00 A. M. at Second Baptist Church in Eunice, LA. Burial will be in Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Houston, TX. Rev. Wesley Givs, Jr. will officiate the homegoing celebration.
Sis. Christine W. Givs was born August 8, 1962, in Houston, TX to the late Earis Waddell, Sr. and Birdie Williams Waddell. Christine received her formal education at Booker T. Washington High School. Sis Christine professed to have accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a Billy Graham crusade in 1981 which was held at Rice University Stadium along with John J. Givs, Sr. who later became her husband. On the morning of August 3, 2018, Christine departed this life. She leaves behind: her husband of 36 years, John J. Givs, Sr; five children: Lance L. Givs of Eunice, LA, Earica M. Givs and Demetrius Givs of Houston, TX, Keith Givs of San Antonio, TX and John J. Givs, Jr. of Beaumont, TX; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her mother: Birdie Williams Waddell; four brothers: Earis Waddell, Jr, Willie (Donna) Waddell, Moses (Laquetta) Waddell, Jimmy (Kimberlyn) Waddell; three sisters: Betty (Larry) Warren, Birdie Rodgers, Jacqueline (Charles) Brown. She further leaves to cherish her memories: a sister-in-law: Maxine Mims Gives; five brothers-in law: Pastor Wesley Givs, Jr., Odell Givs (Mary Ann Arvie) Minister David Givs, Sr., Deacon Matthew (Leanna) Givs and Deacon Leo (Cathie) Givs; three uncles: Robert Waddell, Willie (Linda) Waddell and Roy Connor; and a host of other relatives and friends. Christine was preceded in death by her father: Earis Waddell, Sr; two sisters: Mary Waddell and Barbara Ann Waddell.
